Rovers Accept City Offer For Santa Cruz

News just in that Rovers have accepted a bid in the region of £16 million + add ons for Roque Santa Cruz from long term admirers Manchester City.

Cruz has been begging for a move since January and he now looks likely to get it.

I think we will all be glad when this is over and done with and we can get on with our lives as normal...

Is the "thank god" statement relief that he's gone or that you got the exclusive?

£15m for Bentley, £16m for RSC. Your chairman MUST be the greatest negotiator in the hisyory of the premier league. Any idea where money's getting spent?

I think he is actually an English hitler. John Williams is a great chairman. The money will be spent more than likely on 2 strikers, a midfielder and maybe a right back - Sam will have to make it stretch.

At Bolton Sam was at his best wheelin' and dealin'. He buys people who are considered unfashionable and combines them superbly. However £18m could buy 4 good players or 2 great players, I'd be tempted to go for the latter though because it's your special players which make all the difference at this level IMO. I thought Givet was a right back who was forced to play in the centre when Samba moved up front?
