Two More Rovers Arrivals Reported

Blackburn Rovers are understood to be looking to capture two high profile players this summer according to the latest speculation.

Mohamed Zidan (who has been linked with Rovers before) still has three-years of a four-year contract with Borussia Dortmund to run but this hasn't stopped speculation linking the Egyptian midfielder with a move to Ewood Park. However, Zidan has been quick to dismiss this saying he's happy in Germany.

Zidan is quoted on Setanta Sports as saying: "I have already signed a contract for four years and I have three years left of that contract, so I still have time to make it at this team and the club.

"And I don't think I would make the decision to leave Borussia Dortmund.

"I am very happy being a member of the team.
"

The 27-year-old Egyptian International would make a superb signing for Rovers but this isn't going to happen as Zidan is happy where he is and even if Dortmund let Zidan go he wouldn't be cheap!!!

The other player that Rovers are understood to be interested in is Espanyol's former Barcelona player Ivan de la Pena. The midfielder has been offered a new contract with Espanyol and the reports (coming from Spain) are understood to be mainly down to his agent linking Rovers with the former Spanish International to get a better contract from the Barcelona based La Liga club!!!

Personally I also think that de la Pena would make another good signing, but once again this isn't going to happen and this is more down to his agent seeking a better deal for his client.

De La Pena? Littel Buddha? Hes waaay over tge hill, scrap heap time methinks! Zidan would be a good signing but would he adapt to Prem football?

Ohh I would love to see Zidan in Blackburn - he played for some years in Denmark and he is quality....most of the time. The best story about him is when he bought at a very nice watch on the cheap side...a real bargain....unfortunally it was stolen :-) He is quite a character....

I'm looking forward to some confirmed signings - I wonder if any of the player that press speculation link with rovers will actually materialise at Ewood Park? Is it a smokescreen to hide Sam's real targets? I don't recall any advanced speculation prior to signing Van Heerden. At least we are being linked with talented players now - hopefully this is a good sign.

I cant see either of these for one reason or another but agreed I would like Zidan here. Rovers have very rarely built up mcuh speculation prior to a signing - keeping things secret steals a march on the others.

Zidan mite be the better buy outta the 2, but Big Sam has the reputation of prolonging careers, De la Pena was a good player but it hardly relates to the press saying he was looking for younger, dynamic players.....

Shame it wasn't the other Zidan(e) a few years ago!
