RSC To Go Quartet To Arrive At Ewood?

Blackburn Rovers striker Roque Santa Cruz is yet again understood to be attracting attention from Manchester City (something that Mr Mikey has covered for us VBers.)

£15 million falls below the valuation that has been placed on the Paraguayan International's head but Man City are understood to be willing to play no more so we now have to decided if we want to take it to raise some funds or stand firm and miss out on the money?!?! This money would reportedly be used to sign Pascal Chimbonda from Tottenham Hotspur (to solve our right-back problem) and Newcastle United trio (and former players under Sam Allardyce either at Bolton Wanderers or Newcastle) Nicky Butt, Kevin Nolan and Alan Smith.

Even if these newspaper reports were true allowing one player to leave and bringing in four others (even if this could be for a combined amount that was less than what we received for RSC) it's hardly going to cut the wage bill, which is something that John Williams is looking to happen at Ewood Park.

yes to Chimbonda, a bloody great no to the other three

Yes to Chimbonda, neutral on Smith, definite no no to the other 2!!!

If Newcastle are changing hands I can't see any of this happening - as the clubs assests get frozen while the prepective new owners look through the books... Not sure about Chimbonda, we want to sell a-want-away-player for another?? However, Butt and Nolan are good players to bolster our midfield - Smith maybe more injury prone. However, as Walker states, this would hardly cut our wage bill!!

Chimbonda could be good but the toon rejects can sat away as far as I'm concerned!

Chimbonda is a trouble maker and the other three are useless, Bolton fans were delighted to see the back of nolan, Smith hasnt scored a goal for Newcastle and Butt is over the hill. We can do better abroad and I think Sam knows this.

Buy Duff back liked him when he was at Ewood, and Chimbonda is ok. Why not Nolan Mikey D? Maybe there is something I don't know as a Dane about him. Cheers
riisenholt
Nolan is just a thug Riisenholt... Bolton fans I have spoken to thought he was over the hill and overweight as well. They couldnt believe they got £4 million for him! I could be wrong but I cant see him reaching previous heights reached at Bolton a few years back. Besides - Since this was printed Sam has rubbished reports linking him to old Newcastle players!

if we get 15 million or 10 milllion for ROQUE SANTA CRUZ i dont under stand y we need a right back for, we have heart of all hearts brett emerton .cimbonda if we get this., this would be very very bad for us because he is after going though 3 differant clubs in the premier ship what we should be doing attacking get two srikers dont mind the player that he signed for newcastle they dindnt work any of them
tubzz
I think it is merely lazy journalism from the papers is the link to all the Newcastle players. We wont sign any of them more than likely. I agree with what you said Tubzz mate.

I think having Diouf and Chimbonda on the rite may lead to all sorts of trouble, they both have reps for being t*ts, Nolan is an ok player who Sam kept under control and brought the best out of at Bolton, Smith maybe..Nicky Butt - ur having a laff!!!! I think we can still attract better players even after last season - although this type of player will be affordable
