Reports: City Bid £15 Million For Santa Cruz

Manchester City have made a £15 million bid for Blackburn Rovers striker Roque Santa Cruz, according to various media sources.

Rovers are struggling to raise funds for the transfer market this summer and selling Cruz is the best way by far to inject some spending power into the club.

The Daily Mail is first off the bat with the breaking news. The 27-year-old has still not fully recovered from his knee surgery but that does not appear to have put off City as they look for a tall target man.

City do not believe Santa Cruz is worth the 19 million they bid for him in January however and the bid is reflective of that.

Having said that I would personally be happy as a Rovers fan with £15 million for someone thats wants to go and has been injured for half a season.

Get it sorted Samuel.

this is a blessing. i'd be pushing him out the door for 15mil, but maybe Sam will say ok if they add Ben Haim to the deal? surely their not going to want much for him anyway

£15 million and Ben Haim would be a good deal

To be honest, we did great the last 10 games without him, with a great points turnover, it can only be good that hes going, so we can get some better players in, and players who want to play for rovers.

Finally get it over today instead of tomorrow, cheers

Maybe Monday things will get sorted when he gets back from Paraguay?!

bite their hands of, take the money and run....we should of sold him 6 months ago when they had 18 on the table. Dont let him detour to us on his trip back, send him straight to the eastlands. If he did come to us, he probably would get injured stepping out of the car, failing his medical lol. 15 mill can be spent so well.... 4 Mill on Bresciano, 2.5 mill on Kennedy, 8 mill on Scott Mcdonald, 497k on Nicky Carle, 3k on Sas, well in?
