Dunny Wants To Crack On At Rovers

Blackburn midfielder David Dunn is looking forward to next season as he finally recovers properly from injury (again).

The Blackburn born fan of the club endured an injury-plagued campaign last time out, which was even more frustrating as he looked dynamite when he was on the pitch. But he is confident of having a good one next season.

He missed the season's run-in after having an operation on his Achilles and is now targeting a return, along with two other long term casualties - Brett Emerton (relative of our very own Sasman) and Steven Reid (relative of all hospital staff everywhere).

Dunn told Sky Sports News - 'Obviously there's a couple of us this year, obviously Brett Emerton had a serious knee injury, likewise did Steven Reid and there's myself - so we'll be in there working hard all summer.

'We've got a great backroom staff, great physios at the club, great doctor so I am just hoping that all three of us can get back into contention pretty quickly.'

Dunn also had kind words for everyones favourite manager Sam Allardyce. Depite not being everyone's cup of tea Sam did the jobhe was hired to do and is now rightly considered a sucess at Rovers.

Dunny continued - 'Without being too unkind, we didn't have a great season this year.

'But we feel that next year we can really push on.

'He (Allardyce) has done a great job and he has stabilised the club and give us at least another season in that top-flight.'

First game of the season against Everton he controlled that game in the first half. I think Ince fitness team let Dunn down as well as others and he might be able to have a strong season. Under Hughes he went a season without serious injury and i can see Sam doing it with his modern physio and sport science techniques.

Dunn when fit is a great player for us - i personally think he should be on a rolling contract or pay-as-u-play contract.......

I dont think DUnny and Reid are earning too much to be honest, however they are keeping our nurses and physio in their jobs....lets hope they can scrap up 30 odd games between them next year.....
