Tugay To Become Coach At Man City

Rovers legend Tugay has told the media in his homeland that he is going to be working in a coaching capacity at Man City.

The maestro bid Blackburn Rovers farewell in the last game of the season a few weeks back and was told he could not be a coach at Rovers until he is fully qualified such is the way Allardyce works. However, he has now been told he can work at Man City.

Tugay will work under Mark Hughes, whom he played for at Ewood Park for 3 and a half years.

Tugay, speaking to NTV in Turkey said -'I made an agreement with Manchester City and will work as a coach,'

'To work there will be a huge step for me. When I feel strong enough, then I will begin to work as a technical director.'

I am sure we all wish Tugay the very best at City and will welcome him back to Ewood when the time is right.

Indeed all the best to Tugay but I can't help but feel a little disappointed that he isn't doing his coaching at Rovers, silly move by BFS.

You took the words right out of my mouth Roversman.

HOW and/or WHY we didn't get him involved with the coaching set-up at Ewood Park and have allowed the Maestro to join a rival Premier League side is beyond me!!!
Walker
scandalous and one of poorest decisions club had made since tony parkes departure

I think Sam said he doesnt have staff that arent fully qualified so theres our answer me thinks.
Mikey D
aye Sam was clear about it, your either qualified or your not part of the coaching squad, fair enough i think, sure tugay is a legend, and im sure he has a lot to offer, but at the moment, we need a solid, experienced back room staff to guide our squad
sasman
he will be with us at some point. Sam will offer him a role when he is qualified and a position is available. I personally dont think this is as bad as we are making out!
Mikey D
i think we should let City get him qualified then he'll move back to Rovers, all ready to go......best of both worlds really

I disagree guys - the club should have had the foresight to put him through his copaching badges this season just gone so that he could have been a player/coach for us 09/10. We've lost out big time here

We should have given him a coaching role, if he could teach the younger kids the true techniques of passing he would be able to inspire a generation of young rovers players with the technical ability of the Spanish stars. He should have some role, but anyway good luck to him if he does go to City. He will always be a legend.

If he turns out to be half as good a coach as he was a player, then he will do for us at Eastlands.
