Ben Haim Close To Rovers Move???

Blackburn Rovers are understood to be closing in on Manchester City defender Tal Ben Haim according to newspaper reports on Sunday.

The 27-year-old old Israeli International has endured a miserable time with Man City since joining them from Chelsea and spent the second half of last season on loan at Sunderland, however, this was again a move that failed to work out for Ben Haim.

With Sam Allardyce having worked with the defender during his time with Bolton Wanderers (and he tried to take him to Newcastle United but he chose Chelsea instead) he is known very well to the Rovers manager, so he knows exactly what the Israeli can do.

The understanding is that a deal is close to being agreed with our former manager Mark Hughes' side, however, further newspaper reports today have also claimed that Christopher Samba will be going the other way so our 25-year-old defender might be helping to fund the deal?!?!

No way, Tal is a good player, but id rather have samba, and i dont think sam will get rid of big chris... either papers got this wrong, or sams lost his marbles :) Tal for 3m, or Samba + 6m for Tal + Jo :)

Haim was quality under Sam i wouldnt mind him here as a right back and cover centrally, but i cannot see Samba leaving!!!

Samba wont go... this is just paper talk. I think Haim if he does come would be a solid if unspectacular addition. Can he play right back!?

I wouldnt mind Haim - he is usually a solid enough player, something which Samba has been accused of NOT being in the past - dont get me wrong there, i like THE WALL and think we may sign Civelli instead, as he is going on a free and prob on lesser wages than the Israeli
