Roberts Red Card Appeal Successful

Blackburn Rovers striker Jason Roberts has had the red card he picked up in the game with West Brom overturned.

An off the ball incident with Jonas Olsson was deemed punishable by red card even though everyone else in the ground saw nothing as the 'Respect' campaign gathers full pace.

Roberts was facing a three-match ban but the English FA has displayed rare common sense and confirmed the card has been rescinded and Roberts is now free to start the 2008/09 season as normal.
