Givet Signs Permanent Rovers Deal!

Blackburn Rovers have secured the services of french defender Gael Givet on a permanent basis after a successful loan spell at Ewood Park since January.

Personal terms have now been agreed with the left/centre back and Givet will sign a four-year contract, whilst also paying Marseille £3.5 million for the right to have the player full time.

Givet moved to Ewood Park in January after a bust up with Marseille manager Eric Gerets and had to start from scratch at Rovers. However as the fitness got better, so did Givet and he has proven to be a truly awesome acquisition.

The news was leaked last night at the end of season player awards by John Williams last night.

Givet has proven already to be worth what we have paid and will prove to be an excellent long term player at Rovers.

Good start to the summer guys.

Great bit of business and I hope the rest of his signings will be of a similar ilk. Still dubious about big sam though as I don't want to see a bunch of thugs heading to Ewood (except the fans that is). I'm keeping my fingers crossed there is some truth in the tuncay rumours - what a class act he is.
