'If It's Football, It's Vital'

Ooijer's Final Rover Comments

Blackburn's Andre Ooijer has confirmed he will be definitely returning to play for PSV next season. Furthermore he had a special mention for the retiring Tugay, labelling the man a 'legend'.

Andre Ooijer will play his last game in blue and white on Sunday before heading back to Holland after three years service.

Ooijer says he has many positives from his stay here, one in particular is having had Tugay as a team-mate.

Ooijer, speaking to Sky Sports - 'He is a legend, a great guy and a great player,'

'Tugay is one of the best players I have played with. To see what he can do with the ball is amazing. He is one of those special players.'

Ooijer also had comments on his future and what has now become his past.

He continued - 'This is going to be my last match on Sunday as I am going back to PSV. I wanted to keep it a little bit quiet as we were in a relegation battle.

'It has been a difficult decision as I have had three great years at this club. But it is time for me to go home. I am just happy that Blackburn are safe.

'I am sure I have become a better person because it is a big experience to live abroad and play abroad.'

I am sure I won't be the only one wishing Andre all the very best. After a terrible debut he has become a model of consistency and he leaves with our blessing - he wanted to go but he kept it quiet until the relegation job was done, take note please certain traitors (cough Roque cough).

Well done Andre on a good reliable Rovers career. You shall be getting a well deserved round of applause on Sunday.

Good parting comments from Andre here, he'll be missed but Big Sam should be able to replace him.
Walker
He is replaceable but I am glad that we have got our moneys worth from him.

Ooijer's proved himself to be a true professional with his parting comments. Isn't it nice to see someone leaving the right way for a change (cough, Bentley, Santa et al.)

Oojier i always rated, looked a bit dodgy in his 1st game but went from strength to strength after that, better as a centreback, but as this is our strong area he worked very well on the rite!! a class player, who we were lucky to have for 3 yrs.... i also liked the way he found time to acknowledge Tugay as one of the best players he has played with - after all being a dutch international for some yrs he has played with some fantastic players - Bergkamp to name but one
Clint
I have always praised the consistency of Oojier. He is very much like the underrated Monk. and therefore, I think the replacement for Oojier, amoung our ranks in any event. However, further cover for the right back spot is needed...
