Tugay To Queens Park Rangers???

Blackburn Rovers midfielder Tugay was expected to retire at the end of the season but it is understood that Queens Park Rangers are trying to tempt him into delaying his retirement.

The 38-year-old is leaving Ewood Park in the summer and it was understood that the former Turkish International was going to retire, however, reports are saying that QPR are trying to tempt him into delaying this retirement by offering the midfielder a lucrative contract to spearhead their Championship promotion push next season?!?!

Some newspaper reports are even saying that the Maestro is actually keen on making this move.

Wouldn't begrudge him one last year but would much prefer to see him coaching the youngsters

Big Sam has said he won't be a coach at Blackburn next year, as he does not have the relevant badges. I would've thought he would retire on top, and in the best league in the world (some say...), and in front of fans that love him.

:( if this is true I'll be a little sad. Still, can't begrudge him another season if he wants it.
Money4midfield
he still has game left in him; i can see him play in the championship.

He certainly will retire on top joining the Super Hoops ;D
Boxer
are you sure he's only 38 - looks at least 48 :-)

He doesn't look a day over 21 merlin!!! He's playing some great football. i don't understand why we would let him go. next year he could become Blackburn's Giggs- comes on in the last 20 and has the quality to make a huge impact

He is the master, an absolute legend and whatever he wants to do is fine by me. He has earnt the right to make his own choices and every Rovers fan will respect him regardless.

If Tugs doesn't want to retire then we should offer him a new deal! He played 90 mins against Chelsea at the weekend and was one of our better players! Also, if he wants to be a coach why aren't we helping him get his badges now so that he can start next season? I hope the management havent messed him about - if he ends up at QPR I will be annoyed.

I think they said at the time it was a mutual decision wasnt it? or thats what we were told and yes he has looked great recently but how long can he go on at the top? not long me thinks... this decision is best for everyone.

I read somewhere that he doesn't know whether to go into coaching or not. I would guess that is why we/he hasn't gone done that route...He would make a good pundit, for Turkish TV...
