Givet To Sign Warnock To Leave?!?!

Givet To Sign Warnock To Leave?!?!

Blackburn Rovers are understood to have lined up the permanent transfer of Gael Givet, however, it's thought this would come at a cost of another?!?!

Newspaper reports today are saying that Givet will move to Ewood Park for £4 million in the summer after his impressive time with Rovers on loan from Marseille. This move would please many as the former Monaco defender has proven a hit at Ewood, however, the other thoughts are that Givet's arrival will mean Stephen Warnock will move on!!!

Both Givet and Warnock are primarily left-backs but just because the Frenchman signed it wouldn't mean that Stevie W had to leave Ewood would it? I'm sure that Sam Allardyce would be able to incorporate both into his side, wouldn't he?

I'm sorry, but I'd have Warnock in my team all day long - over Givet. If this is true it makes no sense - buy Givet for 4 million, and sell Stevie for 4 million - like for like? Unless Stevie wants to leave and we're getting in back up early.

Would be silly to let the versitile full-back go. Maybe the incoming Givet (Centre half or left back) is to replace an outgoing centre half (Samba...?). Can Givet play right back, as we seem to be severely lacking in that department. Next season we could have two full back in the centre of midfield (Emerton and Warnock...). Maybe Warnock will be employed as a centre mid to replace Tugay and/or Dunn and/or Reid and/or Mokena...? The possibilities are endless! There is plenty of room in the team to accomodate both Warnock and Givet...

Let's get real. We all know big Sam will get both in as follows: Samba -> permanent striker. Givet -> centre back. Warnock -> left-back. Simple ;)

We are all great sideline managers! :-) However, as I have said previously, Big Sam would be a fool to let Warnock go...

quality left back are hard to come by, we are blessed to have 2 players that can cover that position. there's no reason to sell either since they can both cover multiple positions; we all know how thin our squad can get.

I dont think that if Givet signs that Warnock would leave, this is just strengthing the team in 2 areas where we have no real solid cover, ie: Centre back and left back - so why would we sgn Givet to do this and then be int he same boat as last year by selling Warnock??

Warnock wont go... he will play CM, I imagine central midfielders like Reid will leave to create room for Stephen...
