Ooijer's Dropped A Clanger

Sam Allardyce dropped and fined Andre Ooijer after the Dutchman returned a day late for training after a trip to Holland.

Ooijer angered the Big Sam by missing a day's training in the build-up to the game against Pompey at the weekend - a crucial six pointer that has had a large bearing on Rovers season.

But ever the strict disciplinarian, wanted total respect that he felt he wasn't getting. So he docked Ooijers' wages and removed him from the first X1 for Saturdays' game.

Ooijer is due to quit Rovers at the end of the season when his contract runs out, howeer this even will call into question his professionalism.

Keith Andrews was put in Ooijer's right back spot for the big match.

I didnt expect this from Andre as I thought he was better than this. will be interesting to see where this goes.

Did he have a reason for being a day late?

dominator2800
aye, sad way to finish of his career though

if this is the end it is a blemish for sure... not sure how his future employers will view this!
Mikey D
he was going anyway and the main thing is that we're safe!!..the perfect chance for Sam to intill discipline in a squad by punishing him....always thought he was the model professional too
mani13963
He should still get a good send on the last day of the season

I agree mani, as cynical as it sounds it is a great chance for Sam to assert his dominance on the team... an excellent chance.
