Pedersen Gives Plaudits To The Big Man

Morten Gamst Pedersen has put the recent revival in Rovers fortunes down to the work of Sam Allardyce.

Pedersen acknowledged the severe danger Rovers were in under previous manager Paul Ince and gave a heads up to the sterling work Sam has done since taking over.

Pedersen, speaking to the Sun said -'We were in big trouble before the gaffer arrived,'

'We had become used to operating in the top half of the league before this season but he impressed upon us the need to play a bit ugly at times to get the results we needed.

'He has done a really good job since he arrived.'

I think we can all say that the football has not been pretty at the best of times but the job has almost been done, everyone can give themselves a pat on the back but at the same time - the same must not happen next season!

nice to see the boys giving some credit to Sam. he knew what we needed and thats what got the job done.

Well he's certainly succeeded with the "playing ugly" side of things. Let's hope we now see some football in the last 2 games of the season and into next season. Get Samba out of attack, play Villanueva from the start and let's see what he can do.

How does anyone expect us to play football???? We spend literally pennies on players. Middlesbourough, Newcastle and Hull have out spent us by millions this season and are still in trouble!!! Boys, the only way forward for us is to play "efficient, hard working" football and turn teams over the "allardyce" way!! If you wanna watch football then its simple, United and Arsenal are on Sky every weekend...WATCH THEM!!! I just never ever want another season like this one....iv been permenantly drained for months worrying about us going down!! Sam doesn't play the beautiful game, accept it boys!!!

true that mani... I have spent months on end worrying about this and the fact we are nearly there it feels like the weight is lifting! I have never put so much energy into my supporting at matches and if it means playing the old school way then so be it (if it means avoiding another season like this).

I disagree - I think that you can play attractive football and have a safe season. As long as we have an efficient defence, goal keeper and holding midfielder. You need wingers who attack but also get back when needed a good creative midfielder and a target man and a flair striker - We have all those players - the only problem is that our team changes often due to injuries, and they were not in form earlier on in the season.

Friedel, i really wish i could agree with u but i cant see how it is possible....to stand toe to toe with these teams and out football them is a tall order when u spend as little as us....the only teams other than the top four who play decnt football are West Ham, Fulham and West Brom....I'm not even gonna say anything about WBA cos their league position speaks volumes but Fulham spent 14m on Johnson and Zamora last summer and West Ham spent 10m on a striker at xmas that hasn't played!!! We will never spend that money so we have to accept as do the rest of the premier league that plan "B" must be devised....Enter Big SAM!!! - LUV THIS GUY!!!!
