Home Form To Pull Rovers Through?

Sam Allardyce is expecting that Rovers home form will see the Blue and White Army safe this season.

Ewood Park, if you read the stats since Allardyce took over has turned into something of a fortress, something that under Ince it most certainly wasn't.

Rovers have only lost one game at home under Big Sam.

40 points should enough to guarantee safety for another season and one win will bring Rovers to that point.

Sam, speaking to Rovers.co.uk - 'I would consider us safe if we make it to 40 points. Let's do it tomorrow with two games to spare,'

'It will be a tense, nervous affair. We know that one win wherever can change the whole shape of the table. We have to use all our experience.

'There has been a great turnaround of form at Ewood Park and it could have been even better.

'Four wins, four draws and only one defeat is very good considering where we started from.

'The players look forward to playing at home especially as there has been such a good atmosphere the last few games.

'The key has been our good defensive work. That has given the attacking players a platform to work on to get the goals we need to win a game.'

its fair to say that Rovers wont be getting much from Chelsea away so we really need a win tomorrow to avoid a potential last day showdown with (probably already relegated) WBA...

score draw for me, four goals thriller!

Will be interesting the previous games between us and pompey are very mixed results, usually they win one and we win one, so as they won at fratton earlier this season it is our time to win.

What a great result....poorish performance overall.....Warnock and Grella were dyer!!! (Yes SAS, ur boy was awful)...Nelson - IMMENSE and Benni back to his best!!!!

It looks like your home form has done the trick, and by all accounts Portsmouth were all at sea today. Once again Benni shows his class and Samba showed how awkward he is, even for 6'5" David James.

The result was ALL that mattered. Nelsen and Givet at centre back were tremendous, The crowd did their bit as well - its fair to say the reaction to the McCarthy penalty blew the roof off!

The Rovers support has been great lately - when some fans turn on their teams we've backed ours - well done the lads!
