Why Allow This To Happen?

Blackburn Rovers manager Sam Allardyce took his squad to Scotland for a team bonding exercise this week, however, not all of the squad attended according to newspaper reports?!?!

What is and what isn't true in the newspapers is often hard to know, however, if reports that not all of the Rovers squad decided to attend the team bonding exercise is true then this is disgraceful. However, more to the point why were some of the squad even allowed to stay behind? It's being reported that some of our star players declined the invitation (should this really have been invitation anyway, shouldn't this have been a requirement) and stayed behind as the rest of the squad enjoyed this time together.

If players were injured then this is understandable that they didn't attend, but those that are understood to simply decided not to have gone seems to suggest that the squad isn't actually bonding very well. The usually suspects such as Roque Santa Cruz (however, he is injured) and Benni McCarthy allegedly not attending isn't really a surprise but news that Christopher Samba and El Hadji-Diouf decided not to go is???

Maybe this is just more mischief making from the newspapers and there isn't any truth to this at all, it certainly wouldn't be the first time would it. If it's true though I'm very disappointed to hear that this has happened and also left a little concerned about how united the squad actually is at a time when we need this to be the case!!!

Why give them the option as you say Walker? just tell them they get paid far too much and to do as they are told?!?

Not the right attitude, but i would rather them be happy than not though, footballers have to much power these days.
