'If It's Football, It's Vital'

We Need An Unbeaten Run

Blackburn boss Sam Allardyce insists Rovers need to kick on and go on an unbeaten run if they are to avoid the drop.

With 34 points on the board Allardyce's men will probably need 3 wins from their last 5 games to make sure.

Jason Roberts and Roque Santa Cruz were sorely missing as target men as Rovers flopped 1-0 away to Stoke with no prominent attacking threat.

However, despite acknowledging the position - Allardyce remains positive.

Big Sam speaking to Sky Sports said - 'It is a difficult situation to be in but we are outside of the bottom three and are in the best position we have been since I took over,'

'When I took over we had 13 points from 17 games and we have had a long, hard battle to get where we have got now and we are still three very valuable points off that bottom three.

'Making sure we don't lose another game is key to us now. With five games left, if we don't lose I think we will be okay.

'But we have to try to get a win as early as we can and if we can't win make sure we don't lose.

'There is only Chelsea that is difficult for us, all the other games I think we can get something out of.

'We have three very important home games, Wigan, Portsmouth and West Brom (on the final day of the season) but we don't want to go to the last game, we want to secure our Premier League status as soon as possible.'

We need a result and I think we need a good performance to get one. We've been poor of late and the boys really need to step up for these ones. That said, I'd written off points against Stoke already, still a bitter pill to swallow though.

We need to win against Wigan, for the points obv. but for confidence as well, another toothless result may have the wrong effext at the wrong time, we are not safe yet ( as u all know ) and we need Sam to give the lads a kick up their very well paid butts and get the results that we need!!! We have 5 games left but with Chelsea fighting for the league then we should cut that down to 4

Wins bread confidence don't they, if we get one we should get others, however, it also works the same way with defeats doesn't it. we'll be OKAY though I'm sure.

I think Roberts is the key to your survival - you look very lightweight up front at the moment. The Wigan game is g big one for you.
