Rovers Dispute PSV's Ooijer Claims

Rovers Dispute PSV's Ooijer Claims

The future of Blackburn Rovers defender Andre Ooijer looks no near a conclusion after reports of a pre-contract being signed with PSV Eindhoven were denied towards the end of last week.

Ryan Nelsen has previously given us the belief that Ooijer might not return to Holland as had been expected and could yet sign a new contract and Sam Allardyce has also claimed that no pre-contract agreement has been signed with PSV, despite their director Jan Reker's thoughts to the contrary.

Reker was quoted on Sky Sports: "The fact that Andre will play for PSV next season is definitive.

"Andre only needs to take his medical. That will happen after the end of the season.
"

Personally I feel that the 34-year-old will make a Free Transfer return to the Philips Stadion in the summer, however, I also suspect that this is a saga that will drag on for sometime yet and this isn't ideal as Rovers' own future is the most important thing as the moment and distractions are proving unwanted.

And good on him, if he stays, I'l be happy, we do need an experienced head in the back, and im sure he would play a bit part role. If he leaves, then he has served us well, especially when we stay up, he did clinch us 2 wins this season!!!!
