Expect Much Better Against Stoke

Sam Allardyce has promised the Blue and White Army that his side will produce a much improved display in Saturday`s crunch clash at Stoke City than the one dimensional surrender that was the Liverpool game.

Stoke are a very good side when playing at the Britannia Stadium and have only lost 3 games there all season. However, Rovers have already shown once this season that they can beat Stoke.

The direct, physical approach is something that both Stoke and Rovers are known for and it will be up to the two teams to see who can produce the goods on the day.

Big Sam is confident that Rovers, who have sold all of their 3,200 ticket allocation for the game, will give a better account of themselves.

Big Sam, speaking to the lancashire evening telegraph, said - "Stoke will be a completely different style, They are in good form, it is already a sell-out. We have our fans there and know how big a game it is.

"We beat them 3-0 in my first game in charge and we will certainly implement a game plan and I will make sure do better with it this time.

"Otherwise we could find ourselves in a really tough game."

I get the feeling that Sam has targeted the games that we need to win and didn't risk players who were touch and go such as El Hadji Diouf and Gamst Pedersen against Liverpool because of games like this - the crunch games.

Win against Stoke and the game at Anfield will be forgotten in a hurry.

We need a big turnaround and I am confident we will get one. Players coming back into the squad, a big passionate following - it all adds up to a big game and hopefully - the right result.

We were beaten before we left the dressing room last week but it will be different on saturday. Self believe will have a big say on our performances for the rest of the season and i think we believe we can beat Stoke. I think we are better equipped to cope with Stokes physical game than any other team in the premiership and with our better quality up front we should nick it 2-0. Should be an absolute physical belter

Will be cagey I imagine but as Del says - we have the players to stand up to Stoke at home. 1-0 win I hope - dont think there is much in it TBH.

I'd hope we did get better against Stoke, as this is the type of match where we ARE expected to be competiting to realistically get something from it. Defeat here and Stoke are not only safe, but we're put in a heap of trouble.

Rovers have had bad luck with injuries especially for important games this season.... but I think the lads have no confidence against the big teams, steming from the awful start and the fact that its in the heads not to lose, then they dont open up and play, we have been known to give the big 4 really good games in recent seasons so at least we know WHEN we stay up we can do it again
