Vogel Leaves Ewood Park

Johann Vogel has left Blackburn after 12 months at Ewood Park.

Vogel made just eight appearances during his year at Rovers, which has seen him play under 3 different managers. His contract has been terminated by mutual consent.

The former Swiss captain signed in March last year after leaving Real Betis on a free transfer.

Vogel was always a talented player but for various reasons didn't seem to get mcuh game time at all during the reigns of Paul Ince and Sam Allardyce.

We wish the best to Johann in whatever the future holds.

Its sad it has come to this but it was for the best. For whatever reason he was just out of favour.

Still can't quite understand why he wasn't given more of a go as he was starting to look pretty good in my opinion towards the end of last season. It's a strange time to let him go though, shouldn't we have at least kept him until the summer as I would expect we have paid him up until at least then anyway?!?!

Both the club and the player will look back on this one and think "what the hell was going on there". I don't know, but frankly I'm glad to have him off the books.

He looked good at first but just hasn't broke in since, shame we didn't see more of him.

Its a mystery how when we are in the middle of a midfield disaster that Vogel still cant get a game, it does make u wonder IF Betis were as wrong as they were made out to be by getting rid of him after all - there must be something about him that doesnt ring rite, either in the mans personality/attitude to training.....
