World Cup qualifiers and international friendlies dominated the weekend, with Rovers Players travelling across the globe.
In Group 8 of Europe's qualifying campaign, Keith Andrews played the full 90 minutes as his Irish outfit was held to a 1-1 draw at home against a struggling Bulgaria. Zurab Khizanshivilli and his Georgian outfit dropped valuable points, losing 2-1 to Cyprus, and now find themselves at the bottom of the group.
In Group 9, Andre Oijer showed he is still capable at the highest level, with his Dutch team defeating Scotland 3-0, maintaining pole position in the race for South Africa 2010.
2 Rovers came head to head, with South Africa and Norway challenging for the Nelson Mandela Cup. Despite Morten Gamst Pedersen getting on the score sheet, it was Aaron 'The Axe' Mokoena who will have bragging rights, after the South Africans won 2-1.
In Under 21's action,
It was a Rovers fest for the English, as Matt Derbyshire (2 goals) and Alan Judge (1 Goal), finding the back of the net in their teams 5-0 victory over Norway.
Internationals continue over the next 48 hours, with VInce Grella and Brett Emerton watching from the sidelines as the Australians look to become the first team to qualify for 2010 world cup as they play against Uzebekistan in Group A of the Asian Qualifiers.
