Givet Is Great For Warnock

The Rovers fans have been impressed with on loan star Gael Givet to the point where there has been clamour to sign him permanently - and Stephen Warnock has been equally as happy with his performances.

Givet is on loan from Marseille but there is a rumoured deal in place to make his stay permanent.

Whatever happens, Rovers utility man Warnock is impressed.

Warnock, speaking to Sky Sports, said - "I think you can`t single out just one or two defenders when you talk about the last few weeks. They have all been immense.

"Gael Givet has come in and you would not even realise he has only been here for a few weeks. He has been fantastic and Andre Ooijer has been fantastic.

"The back four are very hard to break down and we know that. Having played in midfield myself it is sometimes the midfield that has let the back four down and the forwards as well.

"In the early part of the season we were not working as team but we have looked at that and know we can put that right. I think we have all taken far more responsibility for what happens both in defence and going forward."

Kind words. I personally would make signing Givet on a long term deal a huge priority should Premier League safety be achieved.

it is a great job we got Givet and Diouf in in Jan as injuries to the midfield have forced a re-shuffle and that little bit of extra depth in the squad has been used to the full.

agreed. Givet has proved to be a near-essential buy in the summer for me. He really does look world class
