MGP Gonna Vote Giggsy For PFA Award

Blackburn winger Morten Gamst Pedersen has revealed he is voting Ryan Giggs as his player of the season in this years PFA awards.

Pedersen believes the veteran Manchester United midfielder deserves the award more than anyone else.

Morten - speaking to Nettavisen, said - "I think he has been really good this year, and he has also been in the game for a long time,'.

"I have always rated him highly and, even though he has had niggling injuries, he has always come back at a high - and sometimes higher - level.

"He scores important goals for Manchester United and I think he deserves it.

"He delivers every year - that deserves respect. Nemanja Vidic has been good, too, but I feel that Giggs has provided that little bit extra.

"He`s also a nice person."

Lovely stuff.

Nice to see Morten is from the left winger fan club!

Personally I feel this seasons player of the year has been Steven Gerrard.

http://www.arsenal.vitalfootball.co.uk/article.asp?a=513826 Giggs, ten starts and one goal in the league. Yeah, real Player of the Year stuff. Great player but let's leave the sentimental rubbish for Richard Curtis' movie scripts.

It'll be an absolute joke if Nemanja Vidic does'nt take it this season, he deserves it way more than anyone else, he's been consistant all season. Giving it to Giggsy is only a token gesture for what he's done over the years, a great player no doubt and credit to him that he is still able to cut it at United at his age... but the truth is he should'nt even be on the shortlist.

I think an outside bet could be Ashley Young. has been a catylst for Villa this season but I agree it is between Vidic, Gerrard and Lampard mainly.

Lampard has been absolutely immense this season. My vote goes for him. Unlike Gerrard he's a constant performer and I think he has the best vision of any Englishman in recent years. Apart from Essien he'd be my noumber one target if Rovers won the owner lottery.

If Essien had been fit all season I think he would of been in the top 3 for certain!

Absolutely Midey D, but simple stats completely rule Giggs out for a start. How can you have a player of the year who has only started 1/3 of his side's league games? Lifetime achievement award? Yes. Player of the Year? If he gets it, the award will be meaningless forever more.

I agree it could be a sentimental thing and it could be a lifetime type thing but if it is it will be a one off. I wouldnt be suprised but I personally dont think he deserves it!

He's just sticking with the wingers union isn't he? Giggs has had a really good season but there is NO WAY he should be the Player of the Year!

Pepe Reyna has been very good - Lamps, Gerrard, Vidic all very good. I'd vote for Stevie Warnock personally... but I'm biased!
