Points Target Is Tricky To Set, Says J-Rob

Blackburn Rovers striker Jason Roberts reckons the relegation battle is so tight that setting a points target is near impossible.

With so many clubs still at risk setting a target to reach could be dangerous and cause complacency.

Roberts, speaking to Sky Sports said - "It is a tough one, at the bottom things are so tight. Even this draw against a decent side that are top ten seems like a great result and you can see where they are in the league.

"Until we get there we have to stay focused on what our jobs are and not let out standards down. I am not sure how many points it will take to stay up, it could well be around 42, I have not thought about it.

"We try to look up rather than behind us and how far we can move up the league rather than those that are just trying to stay up.

"That is the mindset we must be in. At this time, we will take staying up."

Fair words. I think it is crucial we take each game as it comes and not try to look to far ahead.

it is tough to say how much it will take to stay up as teams in the bottom 3 change every week! Suffice to say though this will go to the wire....

Absolutely right.. As massive as it was, I think people were getting a little too excited on the back of the Fulham win. This is going right down to the wire. My only hope is that we're not going into our last game depending on other teams to slip up!

We havent had much to be excited over this season though spinny, so every win is massive!!!! but yes, it might go down to the wire, but looking at the run home, we havent scrubbed up too bad, a few winnable games, however against teams who are around us, big 6 pointers!!!!

They are the best games to win though are those. Stoke away is gonna be a biggie for sure - Rovers have even laid on free transport.

It's really tough to know what to do, but if we just do what we have to do the rest takes care of itself.
