Andre Confirms PSV Summer Switch

Andre Ooijer has confirmed he will return to PSV Eindhoven on a Bosman in ther summer.

The Rovers utility defender will re-join his old club after nearly 3 years at Ewood.

Andre, speaking to PSV TV - 'We will make it definitive in May, I have had three nice years abroad, but I will be happy to return to Holland.'

Ooijer, who is away on international duty at present, made almost 200 appearances for PSV before a £2 million switch in 2006.

While confirming that he will go back to Holland, Ooijer has stated he wants this to be the end of next season talk as he wants to focus on Rovers survival fight and ensure their safety.

Ooijer continued - 'We have agreed to concentrate on the present, I am fully focused on Oranje and Blackburn, and PSV can focus on their own competition.'

fair play to Andre for coming out and confirming this to us all. Noe let this be the end of it till we are safe. Once that is secure we can give you a nice send off when you have done your bit.

I have no doubts that Andre will be professional through until the end of his contract and have no problems with him wanting to return to Holland, in fact I wish him well. Now help keep us up dude!!!

Summer Transfer priorities: 1) Buy Givet 2) buy a right-back 3) buy some creative players 4) Sell Gamst

I agree with the first 3. I think Sam has got stuck up Gamst, who is actually starting to work now, no more holidays for the gamst

If we sell Gamst, do we not need a left sided midfielder. Or was your thought to play Warnock in a more advanced role? If not, then we have 5 summer objectives. The 5th being the hardest one, as there are not many decent left sided midfielders out there that we could afford...Good luck to Andre. I have always liked him, due to his consistancy.

I suppose numbers 3 and 4 could interlocked? We have a creative player already in Villanueva but he is not a Sam type of player. Having said that I think Sam likes Gamst and he will prob stay.

I really hope Sam keeps Carlos, as i said b4 he got Jay Jay to work @ Bolton so why not - same situation though Jay Jay was a much much better player he wasnt known as defensive by any stretch of the imagination.... I would go for Carlos on the left, again said it in another comment but he can cross, has more pace than Perderson and has a wicked freekick - I agree we need a permament rite back solution, we were found out this season without Emerton!!

Gamst will be hard to replace, and he likes it at Rovers, and is loyal. I hope he stays. + those long throws come in quite handy!
