Ooijer Set For PSV Return
Blackburn Rovers defender Andre Ooijer is set to return to PSV Eindhoven in the summer, according to his agent anyway.
The 34-year-old's contract expires at the end of the season and most expected him to leave anyway. However, his agent (Sigi Lens) is now claiming that a deal has virtually been agreed already with the Dutch International's former side PSV (the side who came to Ewood Park from in 2006) for him to return to Holland, so this seems a near certainty now.
Lens told Sportweek magazine: "That transfer will go through. In fact all is done already.
"Andre has made his choice - he only wants to go to PSV. And the club is willing to fulfil our wishes.
"We only need to speak about some minor details and put pen to paper. I expect everything will be done in May."
Ooijer wanting to finish his career in hi homeland (as he has said) isn't a surprise at all and is more than understandable so I have nothing against him wanting to do so. After nine-years with PSV previously it isn't a surprise that Ooijer would also like to return to them either. The Dutchman got off to a wobbly start to his Ewood career but turned this round to show that he is every inch the International player that he is and I wish him all the best.

Yep, wish it wasn't going to be on a free wither - surely he's still worth a couple of mill if he had a year or two left on his contact

I, for one, will be sad to see him go. He is a consistant performer, and he seems to be enjoying his role at right back, even crossing the half way line to help build attacks. Maybe the Monk will get more outtings?

Good god not the Monk at right back!!!! Remember him away at City... that was a shocker. The monk for sure should get more games at centre back though.

i think we will have to buy a right back - after all our best one is Emerton - a midfielder at heart. Ooijer is good i like him a lot but at 34 we would have to have started thinking about his replacement anyway, this way he free's up wages to be used on a young, hungry player.......
