Haworth Signs New Deal At Ewood

Blackburn Rovers winger Andy Haworth has signed a new deal taking his stay up to the year 2011.

His new contract runs until June of that year and is the third Academy player in the last few weeks to pledge his commitment to Ewood Park at a time when a few have been sold.

The 21-year old made a very solid debut on the right side of midfield in this season's carling cup game against Sunderland.

One for the future this one.

Great stuff. That Sunderland debut was really promising so more of that will do himself no harm.

It's been a long time since we saw a youngster come through to the first team. Here's to hoping one of the many promising youngsters can make the step up!

I thought we were gonna see it with Sergio peter but it didnt happen - although I feel you are forgetting Matty money!!!

Where is he now though... bumped off to to warm a subs bench in Greece. I'm guessing he isn't included in Fat Sam's gameplan (ie Big strikers to hoof it to).

He still made it though didnt he - i.e. he's in a Champions League side on loan now and you have to be good to even get a look in.

Good news, and good to hear. Another young talent that we can hopefully see come through and have a big role with Rovers in the future.
