Rovers Loan Kane To Carlisle

Young Blackburn Rovers defender Tony Kane has joined Carlisle United on loan until the end of the season.

Kane has already had a loan spell with Stockport County this season and is now hoping that this latest spell away from Ewood Park with the League One strugglers will further aid his development.

Kane told the Official Stockport County Website: "I'm very pleased with this move, to be honest.

"I just want to get out there and try and get some games under my belt. Hopefully I will do well for Carlisle while I am here, that's certainly my intention anyway.

"I've played in Belgium for a year, and I have had the spells with Stockport, so I don't mind moving away from Blackburn at all.

"The important thing is playing football. That's all I want to be doing, and I have been in amongst the squad already, and seen what they can do, and I think everyone is just raring to go after the recent postponed games.

"I will now work hard in the training sessions with everyone and try to force my way in to the manager's thinking, and let's see where that leads.
"

This loan move to Brunton Park will be a good one for Kane, Rovers and Carlisle and should help the Northern Ireland Under-21 International continue his development, as first-team football over reserve football will give him a better chance of doing this.

Tony Kane is a good young right back. He is very hard and defensively sound. He is a bit small. Good luck to him at Carlisle, where he will be joining another of our lads, Peter Murphy (I think Peter is still there).

This will do him some good. it is good to see our young lads out on loan - even if they dont make it here there is always the cash bonuses that comes with a sale.

A good move for everyone isn't it. It's better for Kane to be playing some first team football rather than kicking his heels in the reserves.

I think has played in the reserves for well over a year now if I am not mistaken - correct me if I am wrong?
