Santa Cruz : I Have Always Been Happy Here

Roque Santa Cruz remains focused on Rovers and has re-affirmed that he ahs always loved the club and is happy to give 100% to the cause.

The striker has been keen on a move away but not once has he stated he was unhappy here - the one dimensional media of course ignore this.

Santa has acknowledged he knows why he was booed but will do everything he can to help the club climb clear of the drop zone.

Roque, speaking to L.E.T said - 'I am very happy at the club and that is something I have said every time,"

"At the beginning I did hear some people showing that they disagreed but I think people are very jealous about things they like, so I think it showed how much they appreciate me.

"Even though I didn`t like it at that point, I could understand why people weren`t happy.

'But it was also nice to see how people realised what it was about and they tried to make it better again, singing my name again after the first seconds I was on the pitch.

"Even when I was playing in games before the window closed I was working as hard as I always do and always showing that I was focused on what the team was doing.

'For me nothing changed within that time and especially now.

"We have to focus on what we have ahead of us to start getting some points to see ourselves better in the table."

That's what we like to here Roqster.

This is the kind of reaction I hoped we would get.

Maximum respect to Roque Santa Cruz from all Man City fans. We're gutted to miss out on a player of his quality, but the way he's reacted to staying at Blackburn is pure class. Wish more footballers were like him.
fifthcolumnblue
yep, he's certainly better than Bellamy.... oh.
Money4midfield
Its a sad state of affairs though that he is in the minority.

lets not get too carried away, simple fact here rovers would not sell him!!!! he has no choice but to knuckle down cos any toy throwing would scupper any transfer in summer, its great we have kept him but he will def go in summer and he has gone well down in my estimation, he was my favourite player!! Usually rovers would of caved in which we did eventually with bellamy and bentley the only difference this time is we were in the position to say no cos it was in january and not in the summer, dont forget we had this interest in both bellamy and bentley in previous jan transfer windows and did not sell till summer, and this is no different so i would say if everyone wants to slate bentley and bellamy then you have to slate cruz too as its the same situation

We'll see in the summer... Plus, he didn't do a Bellamy or an N'zogbia and refuse to play.
Money4midfield
but bellamy did not do that while at rovers!!

There's no guarantee that Sparky will still be at the helm at ManC in summer, so there's no guarantee that RSC will get his transfer. He's gotta knuckle down and continue to play as well as he can for our cause, and continue being professional, both on and off the pitch, if he does want to secure a transfer.
Desert Kiwi
Bellamy had a clause in his contract which allowed him to leave in the summer and not Jan. The difference is that RSC has shown the right attitude. He kept his cool through out all of Jan and didnt stomp his feet, he let the clubs sort it - which they did. He has to live with however it turned out.
Mikey D
Errr, RSC has a clause in his contract that kicks in this coming summer, therefore was not active in this January window! He kept his cool? how many times was the guy misquoted? how many times has his agent, his dad or Sparky come out and talk about him going to man city? If he seriously did not want out, would he allow his agent and his dad to "talk it up"? Get real, he's just as much a prima donna as the rest of them and your opinion would be totally reversed HAD he left in January!!
BomBom
fully agreed bom bom !!!!!!!
glen9mullan
harsh words. yes he did want to go and lets be honest, most would for the lure of the ridiculous amounts of cash at City (save our beloved Nelson, Emerton etc) BUT the point is he was good about it and as long as he plays his best and helps us avoid relegation... and win the FA cup... and the league... then surely we can forgive him for wanting to move
retroflair31
I am more concerneed with his actions between now and the summer....
