'If It's Football, It's Vital'

Diouf Knows He Can Win Boo Boys Over

El Hadji Diouf has turned on the charm in a frank and honest statement to Rovers official website.

Spit, as Bom Bom affectionately knows him as, believes the only way to win the fans round is by doing the business on the pitch.

He also loves the fact he is back with the man who always get the best out of him - Sam Allardyce.

Diouf, speaking to rovers.co.uk - 'I remember before I went to Bolton [from Liverpool] the fans there said a lot of bad things about me but if you go back to Bolton today everyone there loves me.

'I just need to believe in myself, play my best football and the Blackburn fans' opinion can turn around.

'I know my character is very strong, but I don't think having a big character is a bad thing. Everything I do in my life I do 100%.

'Yes I'm a bad loser, but I'm not a cheat and I don't like cheats.

'It's a good thing to be a bad loser, when I was younger I used to cry if I lost a football match. Now I'm bigger I can't cry any more but I can still feel bad.'

'Me and Sam used to have a wonderful time at Bolton, we finished fifth in the Premier League one season and sixth twice.

'He knows me so well and understands me more than anyone, that's why when the opportunity came up to come to Blackburn there was never anywhere else to go.'

Time will tell El Hadj, we need you more than we thought now with Brett out.

I am prepared personally to overlook past indiscretions if Diouf can do the business. Theres only one for em he can do ti and that is by turning in the performances we all know he can.

Good shout Mikey.. personally i can't stand the guy.. he has been a hate figure amongst us Rovers for a long time now but i'll forgive and forget if i see him giving it everything for the cause!!

I am sure Sam can do the business with him... eh knows how to channel Dioufs energy to rpoduce good results on the football pitch.
Mikey D
I too will forgive and forget if he does the business. I won't be booing our own player without him having touched a football either.
Money4midfield
We havent booed that many players have we? Roque was done recently. But before that we havent really booed any of our own have we?
Mikey D
as soon as any player puts on the blackburn shirt we cheer him end of discussion in my book

I think that Diouf's attitude stinks, but he is now a Rover so he gets a fresh start, everyone deserves this. I can't see that many people booing him, they will soon be cheering him I'm sure as Big Sam will get the best out of him.
