'If It's Football, It's Vital'

Reports : Emerton Out For 'Nine Months'

Brett Emerton could be out of action for up to nine months after sustaining a cruciate knee injury against Middlesbrough.

The Aussie midfielder was replaced by Dave Dunn in the second half of Saturdays' game and is reported to be heading home for surgery.

The Daily Mirror is first off the mark witht the news - 'The long-serving star will miss the survival fight and the start of the next season after the freak injury,'

'He has been given time off to go home and be with relatives while he recovers.'

If this report is accurate this is a crushing blow for both player and club.

Brett has been arguably Rovers most consistent player this season.

Big Sam desperately trying to find a striker. I think the board want the RSC money, as City wont come back in the Summer for him or offer as much. reports that you in talks about a oan deal for Bent.
Buzz Lightyear
Certainly seems that way.I would now say competition on right wing is a pressing matter.

........Shocking news..........
sasman
unbelievable, we need a right sided player more than ever now
glen9mullan
i suppose diouf is the answer for now. he may prove to be a crucial signing.
dominator2800
Im devestated for the team and Brett, really bad news considering he isnt one to be injured that much either. Diouf could prove an even better signing now, and Dunn/Grella really need to stay fit.
adrianbrfc
yeah Diouf could be a brilliant signing now, lets just hope hes as influential here as he was at bolton!! On the up side of things, ive made a Blackburn snowman!! :)
whitey_82003
This ******** sucks!!!!! Let's hope we make some magic an last ditch effort.....
Heldacaite
Real bad news could have been a contender for player of the season. Shame i hope he can recover though and it won't affect him in the long term.

I can't believe this.. it's a massive blow!! Good thing we got in Diouff when we did or we'd be completely screwed.
spinaker7081
I think the fact we have not got a replacement in (or so it appears) is down to the lack of time avaiable... get well soon Brett you will be sorely missed.
Mikey D
Still depressed....... grrr this sucks lol, i wanted the emo and grella combination!!!!!, guess we gotta sign another aussie now lol
sasman
We are at an Aussie deficit!!!
Mikey D
Bad news, as Brett not only can play in different positions, he has been a consistenly good player for us. I hope he has a good recovery and is back in the rovers shirt soon
FreidelNo.1
Very, very bad news. I couldn't believe it when I first heard this news and was praying it wasn't true. We can't cry over it that much though can we, we must just get on with things.
Walker
