Nelsen Thinks Roque Is Great Influence

Nelsen Thinks Roque Is Great Influence

'The Admiral' Ryan Nelsen is a big fan of Roque Santa Cruz and is sure that his mere presence in the side and on the training ground is of great benefit to the club.

Santa has been angling for a move away in the January transfer window but
reports have surfaced that Roque is as professional as ever despite his disappointment at not moving on.

Ryan, speaking to the BBC said, "Of course it`s a great boost having Roque at Blackburn and he`d make a difference to most teams. He`s an extremely good player.

"We`ve got three very talented strikers at this club.

"If he does stay it would be a massive lift for everyone. You can`t put a price on a guy like him. He`s a fantastic player.

"We won`t be 100 per cent until February 2 because Man City could come in with £50 million and the club couldn`t turn down that sort of money.

"To me, I see him play every day and I don`t understand why they don`t do it (laughs) But obviously I hope they don`t."

Kind words, Ryan has always spoke very highly of Roque and if he is still here on the 3rd of Feb then I am sure Roq will continue to give his all for the cause.

Yesterday's game against Boro shows that he
loves this club.

Roque has never for a second spoken a bad word about Rovers and I dont think he ever will. He still owes Rovers in my eyes to do his best.

sparky said there not going to offer stupid money for him. so he wont be going in this window the summer i can see him going because of the clause in his contract which lets him go for 18m, but to be honest would we miss him that much. no doubt hes a good player but he is normally very lazy on the pitch how often do u see him charging for the ball or sprinting around like roberts does. its almost like he knows rovers will put him in the starting line up no matter what so he doesnt have to put that extra effort in. like he did in his first season. this season he hasnt impressed me. and if he goes i think he should go now. for as much as we can get for him because he will be off in the summer for 18m to someone

I agree but also disagree to an extent. Roque is still a classy player who will be missed at ewood when he goes. However, Roque has never really chased things down - even last season. He is much more a talisman. How much we miss him depends on who we get in instead.

Looks like RSC will be staying at Rovers then. Less than 2 hours to go in the window, and I can't see anyone willing to pay £25million for him. Think he's a very good player and exactly what City need, but think there would be complete uproar if Hughes were to pay so much for him.

I've just heard that Brett Emerton is out for the rest of the season with a cruciate injury. How abouyt Gelson Fernandes + £15million for RSC? We'll throw in Benjani and Vassell for nowt to sweeten the deal!
