Diouf On His Way To Ewood?

It is understood that Blackburn Rovers could be about to open talks with El Hadji Diouf about a move to Ewood Park.

The 28-year-old has been linked with Rovers since his former Bolton Wanderers manager Sam Allardyce arrived at Ewood, but to date Sunderland have denied that he would be leaving the Stadium of Light just six-months after arriving from Bolton. However, Sky Sports News understands that the Senegalese International is open to the move and Sunderland manager Ricky Sbragia could sanction such a deal?

Meanwhile Roque Santa Cruz is again quoted as voicing his desire to leave Rovers to sign for Manchester City.

Allardyce remains unmoved on his thoughts that the Paraguayan won't be leaving Ewood, but if Santa Cruz wants to go if we can get anything approaching 20 million then we have to let him go as what's the point of keeping someone that doesn't really want to be at the club?!?! A move for Hadji Diouf is only likely to enhance the chances of Santa finally getting his move to Man City.

This one looks a done deal to em but this wont be as a Roque replacement. This will be the Matty D replacement.

I don't think this'll happen (and I don't rate him either). 18.5 was Citeh's final offer - Diof isn't the kind to sit on the bench, he's a disruptive muther. I vote no on this one

he will come which i don't want, he isnt a good player i dont like his style of play. all together i dont want the move to happen, but it looks like he will be coming. oh sky sports news have just said he is now a rovers player... which i didnt want. im gutted about nolan. we should of made a offer for him. he went for as little as 4m to newcastle, he would have added alot to our midfield which we need. grella is good but Nolan is better and we've seen wat he can do!

ug.. looking at soccer base I just wonder what form exactly Big Sam suggests he wants Diouf to repeat 143 premiership starts - 24 goals...1 in 6. Bench warmer.

Right winger, left winger, centre forward. He has been bought for his versatility and we know Big Sam can get the best from him... positive spin guys. He's virtually here now - lets back everyone.

I think this could be good see him more as a right midfielder though allows emerton to push back or into the middle. I think he is a good footballer but a bad bloke but i think maybe he can mature now.

Yeah but we have enough CM's IMO marshin... the right side is what needs more depth. We have one more to the ranks.

Nolan is brutal. Bolton fans are delighted he is gone and that should tell you all you need to know. I will also add that for someone who started all of boltons games when fit for them to sell him to a potential relegation candidate speaks volumes. plus we have enough CMs as Mikey has said. Diouf I'm very unsure about. Ok he dived against us and won a pen but he did that for the team who he was helping to win a game, if he does that for us I for one won't be complaining.

i think this can potentially be a very good acquisition, it gives Big sam an extra option in 1 of 3 positions! the guy has experience and he is creative, and a n annoying playa to play against as we have known!

DURKS - great point....ive said this before but i live in Bolton and i am surrounded by their kind...iv asked all about the movements today and everyone of em has said the Nolan is crap....and everyone of them has told me how much of a good player they thought Diouf of my mates actually knows Diouf really well and says that he LOVES big Sam. This will be an inspired signing guys...Big Sam already showing his shrewd business sense - Givet and Diouf for a combined totla of under 3mil??? Dont like Diouf but he IS a talented player and no one can deny it....we got used to Robbie Savage so lets back Dioufy!!!!!!!

thats a fair point, we should give him a chance at least to see what he's made of. but the only place i'd like to see him is the right side. right midfield is where he played well for bolton most of the time.. if im right ?

i agree with roverjoy. Diouf at right mid, allowing emerton to go right back. i think he is the only player we have who is convincing there and i don't think he has it in the middle anymore. (that being said i love the guy)... what does everyone else think?

Diouf traditonally was more on the left side was he not? either way we have another good option and we cant have enough of those!!!
