Plymouth Sign Judge On Loan

Blackburn Rovers have loaned Alan Judge to Plymouth Argyle for the remainder of the season.

The 20-year-old has just signed a new long-term contact at Ewood Park, but with his first team opportunities likely to be limited this season the option of loaning him out to the Championship side has been taken, with Plymouth manager Paul Sturrock happy to have the Republic of Ireland Under-21 International on board.

Sturrock told the Official Plymouth Argyle Website: "We need a freshness in midfield and he can play several positions in there.

"We've had him watched several times. He is a livewire, box-to-box type player. He is very similar to David Norris in that he is a pocket dynamo.

"He comes into the squad for Saturday (against Ipswich). I will have a look at him in training and decide overnight.

"He is very hungry for the challenge and I have taken him as an offensive player to come from midfield and support the front two.
"

The move will benefit Judge, Rovers and of course Argyle, so everyone comes out of this as winners!

Good move for Judge. He weill gain a lot of good experience at Argyle as Matty did at Wrexham. It will toughen him up a tocuh as well.
