Best is yet to come- Grella

Vince Grella's 4 million pound move 6 months ago was deemed to be a piece of shrewd business from then manager Paul Ince. 4 millions pounds is big money spent, but for a player of Vince's quality, it was believed to be 4 million pounds well spent. However, injury after injury has prevented Grella from showing what he can do best, shutting down opposing midfielders, and starting the counter attack.

Grella recently came of the bench in the Premier League encounter against Newcastle, and boy did he show what he can do. He shut down the attack, brought some life to the midfield, and his passing game was superb for a defensive minded midfielder. In a recent interview with the LET, Grella explains his feelings and dissapointment to Ewood life.

"I am just happy to be on the pitch. It has been a very awkward start to my career but I think I can turn it around'.

"I have worked probably harder in the last four months than I have in my whole career before. Personal pride has been at stake and I was doing everything I could to get fit again'.

"I have had great support from the club, from the chairman to the medical staff to the coaching staff and it feels great to be back out there again."

Grella believes he is fit and ready to go, however more match fitness is whats required for him to return back to his best. He hopes to start against Sunderland in the cup on the weekend, and hopefully impress and push on for a starting berth in the derby against Bolton.

GOod to see Grella back in action baby!!!!!!

Sas backing his man. I feel he will be starting against Sunderland in the cup alongside Vogel again. Villanueva I expect will also get a chance.

sas will always back his fellow aussies... i think we shal be seeing the best from grella in the coming months, sounds like hes very happy at rovers! Team for the FA cup trip Bunn Simpson Ooijer Nelsen Warnock/Olsson Emerton Grella Dunn Treacy Villanueva Roberts maybe give blackman a place on the bench!?! 2 in 2 now for the reserves see what he can do in the 1st team?

I think we need to follow the whitey route of mixing experience with youth. I would go Robinson, Simpson, Zurab, Ooijer, Givet, Emerton, Grella, Vogel, Treacy, Derbyshire, Villanueva
Mikey D
Can't wait for Vinnie to have an injury free run. Give this man a role and watch the opposition suffer. And any word on a Bresciano transfer? Imagine the quality with Emerton- we'd never lose...

Anyone up for buying the entire Aussie national squad? Judas excluded of course...
Mikey D
Anything we have seen from Grella has been pretty good. It's just a matter of keeping him on the pitch so he can show his worth.

I still maintain that him and Dunny are the first choice central midfield pairing. Tugay, Vogel and Andrews can provide more than adequate back up.

Grella has shown quality in the glimpses i have seen him and i think rovers will go with a near strenght team possible robinson, simpson, zurab, nelsen, warnock, emerton, dunn, greela, villanueva, cruz and derbyshire it is away against a premiership team and big sam will want to win this one

Retro is Sas in disguise lol. No news on bresciano this time round lads, Brett Holman transfer has also died down, we did have a last minute bid in last window, he accepted, clubs couldnt agree, so missed out on him, but if there is a sniff of an aussie heading to ewood, be assured, vital blackburn will have it first!!!!
sasman
You are basically the Aussie equivalent of Sky Sports news Sas!!!
Mikey D
Il take that as a compliment...I think? lol
