'If It's Football, It's Vital'

Santa Cruz A Certainty To Be Staying

Blackburn boss Roque Santa Cruz has been quick today to quash any Roque Santa Cruz transfer talk by sending a clear message - we don't want to sell.

He did say he would be tempted by £40 million but the odds of anyone offering that sort of money is slim at best.

Allardyce, speaking to TALKSPORT said - 'The bottom line is, we don't want to sell Roque Santa Cruz,

'For me, we won't be selling Roque Santa Cruz, that's a certainty. The money is no good to me at this stage of the season. Roque Santa Cruz is more valuable to me and more valuable to Blackburn Rovers than the money, whoever might offer.

'There's £40million at stake [to stay] in the Premier League per year and I don't think anyone is going to offer us £40million for Roque Santa Cruz.

The value of Roque as a player for us is far greater than what anyone could give us in terms of money.'

When asked if he would be happy to take the £40million, Allardyce responded - 'I think I would, yes.

'I think I'd have to. I don't think the board would take too kindly to me saying 'No, I'm still not taking that'.'

Sounds like a clear message to me.

Well that looks to be the end of that. City may come back but we have made our stance clear.

I like his way of communicating. :-)

we'll see how RSC responds. i don't see him scoring more than 10 goals this season and if he ends up staying pass the deadline, it is very likely he'll be with us for a while unless man city comes back with an offer again in the summer. kind of like the benni mac situation

That would appear to be that wouldn't it Mr Mikey. I'm still concerned about keeping a player that might want to go (assuming Santa actually does want to go?!?!)
Walker
he has said numerous times he will always give 100% to the cause for Rovers. I believe him.

THe booing of RSC does help, if you want to keep a player, it is showing your appreciation. City wont bid again for RSC, I thought it was one or the other of Roque or Bellendamy and he is having a medical with us tonight. Best of luck for the rest of the season and i hope the fans get behind RSC instead of on his back.

well i think roque's main concern is if he will get back in team as benni and roberts hold the mantle piece at the moment and i wouldnt change a winning formula and cause more unrest amongst the players

Big Sam would be stupid to change the up front pairing at the moment... fix if it aint broke and all that.

I think we may still see one final offer from City now that the Kaka deal has fallen through.

WAHAAAY!

With prices being inflated so much, he was never going anywhere tbh
ForeverUnited
Sounds like the main stumbling block today is the lack of a replacement!!! this story changes far too much!!!
Mikey D
Personally if we can get anywhere between 18-20 million he should be sold. I personally feel his attitude hasnt been right this season. He is constantly talking to the press whoring himself out for a move. His performances have been nowhere near the level they should be.
