Rovers Sign Givet

Rovers Sign Givet

Sam Allardyce has made his first major signing of the transfer window with the signing of Gael Givet from Marseille.

Givet has been out of favour after a fall out with Marseille boss Eric Gerets.

Gael is adept at centre back but also is an accomplished left back which will provide experienced cover in all areas.

Blackburn have the option to buy at the end of the season but no details have been released about agreed fees and option details.

Let me be the first to welcome Gael to the club and hope he helps our cause this season.

Whilst cant say I know loads about the man he certainly does come with a lot of pedigree and the club look to have taken care to make sure he is a shrewd buy. I am confident.

be interesting to see what Big Sam does at Blackburn. He always had a good eye for a bargain whilst at Bolton. Hope he doesn't bring scum bag Barton to Rovers though!

Well if he can play left and centre back that's a bonus. His stats on FM are quite good to so I believe he will be a decent purchase!

Nice to see an accomplised defender signing up...dont know if I would play him in the center or on the left though...Stevies play has been down the last couple of games. And apparently that Zoro guy (also defender) was playing in a "behind-closed-doors" game against Huddersfield yesterday! Know we just really really really need to buy a good right midfielder - i liked the sound of that Franco guy from Fiorentina.

This is an excellent signing I reckon. Question is, will he start ahead of Warnock? Or does this mean Sam's thinking about flogging Warnock elsewhere?

money - or maybe he thinks that Olsson is not ready and does not provide adequate cover? worth a thought.

i'm a huge fan of warnock, and it will take a lot for givet to prove that he deserves to start. nonetheless, it's great to have an extra body at the back. may be big sam is planning to play warnock is midfield...lol

Quite true Mikey. But still, Givet is an international quality left-back. Got to wonder haven't you?
