Allardyce makes first Signing

After being linked with so many players so far this window, Rovers Manager Sam Allardyce has pulled of the unexpected, signing 19 Year old Striker Nick Blackman from Macclesfield Town for an undisclosed fee.

Many fans might be puzzled with the decision, however Sasman believes this is a sign that the board has the confidence in Sam ALlardyce, and he is here for the long run. Blackman has signed a 3 year contract with the club.

Welcome aboard Nick Blackman.....

In other news, South Korean International Lee Keun-ho has reportedly rejected the opportunity to train with Blackburn. Lee is reported to have said

'It is flattering to know that my services are wanted elsewhere, but I need to be playing regularly to continue my development. There is little point joining a great team but having to spend most of the time sitting on the bench.'

'There is still a lot of room for improvement in my game so we will see what the future holds.'

Mark Bresciano has also been in the press, with the Australian Midfielder linked with Newcastle, Boro and Blackburn. Sasman finds it quite funny how Australian Players are always linked with clubs who currently already have Australian players.....

I believe Ince brought him in on Trial, and Allardyce has wrapped him up, hmm two managers agree, cant be bad aye lol

I will reserve judgement until I have seen him play. Sounds like one for the future to me.

Excellent news. The Rovers have pushed so many young players on to the higher level, that the youth team is rather stretched at times. Young Hitchcock (CF) looks a really good player in the making, but he is still very young. It is really pleasing that the Academy is on the lookout for top young players and signing them.

yep. 19 years old. Another Rovers buy for the future *sigh*, anyone know how Rigters is doing?
Money4midfield
He is doing ok by all accounts at barnsley but I still cant see him making it here just yet.
Mikey D
another for the future, hope he makes it in the big time
glen9mullan
Rigters is no longer a promising youngster, if he's going to make it here it will HAVE to be this year, if not then he never will!!! As far as Blackman goes, if he's good enough lets get him in and around the first-team squad sooner rather than later. We don't want another "promising youngster" that never gets anywhere.
Walker
he's not even a starter at Macclesfield Town...WTF
dominator2800
He made 12 appearences last season, and i think he scored once.. not made a start this season...
rover23
That's a real shame. He looked like he'd be a world beater in the Dutch u21s set up... We haven't had many youngsters break through for a long time have we? Derbs is the closest, but he's still not regular starter yet.
Money4midfield
Not sure how Rigters is doing at Barnsley, but I do know how well young Joe Garner from Clitheroe is doing at Notts Forest. So does Mark Hughes now too. Academy players are the future of Blackburn Rovers. Duff, Dunn, Beattie, Gallagher, Garner. All talented players that we have produced and there are many others and more on the way.

Olsson is probably the most recent one to break into the squad, however we did import him a couple years back

Gavin Gunning is another one with a bright future. Excellent defender at youth level.
