City Can Forget Cruz Unless They Bid Big

Rovers boss Sam Allarsyce thinks that for city to get their hands on striker Santa Cruz they must pay over the odds and bid a very large amount of money for Rovers to deal.

Big Sam was speaking to Sky Sports this morning, 'I can't second guess what Manchester City are going to do,'

'Whatever happens between now and next week, as time goes on in this usual transfer window of mayhem, we will wait and see.

'You never say never about anything because you never know what is around the corner when January is on the boil.

'At the end there is always going to be a price, but there is no price we are going to put on Roque's head.

'It is down to Man City to make the offer and blow us out of the water.

'Obviously, we simply want him to play for us and help us stay in the Premier League, which is the most important thing for me and this club.

'The ball is always in Manchester City's court not ours. At the moment we are looking forward to getting him fit and playing for Blackburn Rovers.'

'I am more than hopeful because he is our player, he is contracted to us, we decide where and when he leaves the football club,'

'He has a contract with Blackburn Rovers that he only signed this season.'

We hold all the cards in this pursuit. Roque despite saying he wouldn't mind leaving has just signed a fresh contract, he has stated he loves playing here and we have no real need to sell.

Which means we either end up with a shed load of cash or a talented striker.

Advantage - Rovers.

The BIG offer won't come and you will be left with an unhappy and unfit player....Serves Big Sam right the greedy sod.

Sorry alphieblues but you sound like a City fan!!! If people didnt know you were one they would guess. Santa is not unhappy here if you read his statements at all he has NEVER said he is unhappy here. Sam aint greedy, he is just trying to get as much money for a player as he can - who wouldnt?

What has he got to gain by going to city apart from huge wages. City are not going to win anything for at least a few years. By that time Hughes will be sacked and no disrespect to Santa but i would expect city to have better strikers by then.

Yep he is happy with us - hence the 4 year contract that he signed! Also, he has an £18 million release clause but that's only active in the Summer transfer window. Furthermore, we don't need to sell and need his goals - therefore Man City would have to provide a very tempting offer to get Rovers to sell

There have been strong suggestions he's put in a transfer request however...

Remember when Stephen Warnock put a request in as well? Oh wait a minute that was a lie in the paper.

pay up or shut up city, its also a discrace that they have gone public about actually making a bid, its unproffessional and uncaled for, if he goes i hope someone comes in and pips you to the signing

Stick to your guns Sam.....the guy signed a 4 year contract with us pre-season and yeah he's had his head turned but we don't need to sell him so if City want him then they're gonna have to pay!!! If he's not gone in this window then he'll knuckle down n get us some goals. A) for himself because no-one will want a failure in the summer and B) because he is a good professional....
