Rovers Loan Fielding To Rochdale

Blackburn Rovers goalkeeper Frank Fielding has been sent out on loan AGAIN.

Fielding has had long-term loans with Wycombe Wanderers (twice) and Northampton Town in recent years and now the 20-year-old has gone to Rochdale for a month. Fielding is highly regarded at Ewood Park (with former Rovers goalkeeper Brad Friedel very praising of him) so Rochdale manager Keith Hill is very happy to have acquired his services.

Hill told the Official Rochdale Website: "He is a very good keeper.

"We have been tracking him for two years and he had great experience last season with Wycombe. Once we knew that he was back from Northampton and available we have recruited him.

"We do now have three keepers but every Premier League club has at least three and we consider ourselves to be a Premier League club in the making. It is about competition for places. We are not keeping clean sheets and we want to rectify that.
"

Some players become more and more impatient as time goes on but Fielding is showing great maturity and views this latest move to the League Two club as his chance to impress Sam Allardyce and also gain more first team experience

Fielding added: "I had a good long spell at Wycombe and we got in the play-offs during my time there.

"I am really looking forward to being involved in competitive games and games that we have to win. It is brilliant to come here and see what happens.

"Obviously with Sam Allardyce taking over at Blackburn Rovers everyone is keen to impress him and we have spoken about the need for me to get games under my belt which will then help me to get knocking on the door for getting in and around the team.

"As a keeper I am still seen as being young so coming here and getting more experience can only be a real help to me. Hopefully the move will be really beneficial to both Rochdale as a club and myself.
"

At 20 Fielding has PLENTY of time ahead of him, another loan will benefit everyone concerned.

A good move for everyone, good luck to Frank as always. He has PLENTY of time ahead of him, so the more experience he gets the better.
Walker
Good move for him. Good luck.

haha...FYI, competition of places alone will not make a premier league club.
dominator2800
looked good for under 21s and games can only be positive for rovers

Brad recommends him though as the one for the future - thats about as good as you can get. When the EPL's best goalkeeper says your the nuts - you are.
Mikey D
Totally agree Mr Mikey, if Bradders gives him a glowing recommendation he must be good. I will trust Brad's judgement and my own, on the limited time I've seen him. Hopefully he will get a chance here in the future.
Walker
I am sure he will. Goalies pick in their early thirties normally - Frank has got plenty of time.

natural successor to robinson 3 seasons from now
