Chilean Still Has Future At Ewood

Carlos Villanueva still has a future at Ewood Park - ask Rovers chairman John Williams.

John Williams speaking to Sky Sports said, 'We have Carlos on loan until the end of the season. That is the facts and we don`t know what will happen after that.

"I am not saying we are going to sign him but I am not saying we aren`t either. It was just felt that was the wrong time to commit to paying such money for him.

"Carlos is still a Blackburn Rovers player and will be until the end of the season. Sam Allardyce will get the chance to look at him and we will make our decisions on him later on."

I think we didn't enough of Carlos to part with £5 million hard cash over the first few months of the season but he no doubt has the talent. Maybe he will be here past this season?

He is a talent for sure but question remains over his physique. He could yet turn out to be a gem.

Well I thought that he put in a very good performance against Blyth on a difficult pitch. He really tried to take ownership of the game and onn that evidence I think he has what it takes to settle into the British style of play. I say keep him!
roversman
Roversman with the endorsemant. I am sure he will get plenty of a chance to shine.
Mikey D
Well he has another five-months to prove that he is worth keeping, more chances and good performances and he may well do that.
Walker
i hope he plays well in coming months but if he does he could end up being pinched from under our noses as we no longer have first option on him
glen9mullan
Maybe so but Carlos has said many times that he loves it here. I am happy with that.
Mikey D
carlos did play well and he has got great potential but i am not sure he can play in a two man centre midfield and we have to play 2 men in centre midfield and two front so i am not sure he could fit into our 4-4-2 system

Maybe he suits that 4-2-3-1 system that we play away sometimes. Playing on the left of three would really suit him.

This seems to be the same situation as we were in with Bentley - we took him on loan, others could have come in for him when he was playing well but didn't, and we signed him. I think he needs time to adjust to the league, and I think Williams has every right to be cautious.

The Bentley thing worked out well for us but he doesnt suit playing for Spurs at all!!!
Mikey D
im not sure bentley will be at spurs in summer, his england career has took a nose dive and he is no longer mentioned on m of the d every week
glen9mullan
He has really fallen off the England radar which is a suprise as Spurs was to be the making of him. He has suffered due to the alck of aerial threat at Spurs. Where as at Rovers last season he had a tall Paraguayan to aim for.
