Derbyshire Wants Roque To Roq On

From one Rovers forward to another, Matt Derbyshire feels that losing Roque Santa Cruz would be a massive blow to the club.

Matty, speaking to Lancashire Evening Telegraph, said "Of course, I want Roque to stay at Blackburn.

"He`s a fantastic player and I love playing alongside him.

"He`s been great for Blackburn and he`s a great goalscorer and hopefully he will stay with us.

"I really don`t know whether he will leave us or not but, from our point of view, we really want him to stick with Blackburn.

"As well as being a fantastic striker, he`s a great bloke to have around the club.

"Roque`s always really cheerful and he`s a good laugh, but he always works hard in training which you can tell by the way he plays."

Nice words from a the biggest Rovers fan there is on the squad.

this is a good testament to the character of Roque and no bids have been lodged for him just yet according to Rovers.

Maybe Matty should concentrate on his finishing instead of worrying about Roque's situation. He was poor against Blyth and I still don't think he has improved a great deal since he burst onto the scene two years ago. Still it is good to hear another player backing Roque and Rovers. Still, could this mean that losing Roque could have bigger repurcussions than we originally thought?

Bit harsh that roversman, normally matty puts in a great effort IMO. Rovers through and through that boy. We've all had a bit of a go at him for his Blyth performance - but lets back him now as he is one of our own.

Another supporting the "we must keep Roque" choir. Whatever is best for Rovers regarding Santa is what I want doing now. If he wants to stay he will, if not he will go and should go.
Walker
Either way we cant really "lose".
