Allardyce: We Don't Have To Sell Anyone

Blackburn Rovers manager Sam Allardyce gave his first press conference since being installed as the new Ewood Park supremo on Thursday.

Allardyce was appointed as the new Rovers manager on Wednesday but was officially unveiled in a press conference on Thursday, and Big Sam insists that he doesn't have to sell players and won't do so. Assessment of the players will first be done and then changes made if required, however, reinforcements should arrive.

Allardyce said in the press conference: "We don't have to sell anyone in the January transfer window. I think it is very important from my point of view.

"I have joined the club because I know the players. I know how good they are and it is one of the reasons I am here so why would I want to sell any of my best ones.

"I'm not going to do that. Trying to evaluate the squad is the most important thing before I even think about January's transfer window.

"Too often managers come in, particularly at this time, and can make a judgemental decision far too early on a particular player having seen him not at his best.

"It is much more difficult now in the Premier League to find the level and quality of player you need than ever before in my experience over the last eight years.

"The sooner you can sort the negotiations out the sooner you can get going in terms of getting your teeth stuck into the job and getting on with the process of what you need to do to improve results, particularly in the beginning.
"

Big Sam gave a good press conference. His experience and know how (both on and off the pitch) is going to be important to us. I wonder if players that were out of the picture will come back into under him? From the sounds of it they will. Everyone goes back to square one don't they?!?!

I think he will bring back some confidence - so hopefully we'll get off to a winning start and build from there.

I think we need to and if we do, can see a run, games coming up we can win and will soon move up the table i think two wins hear then maybe we could beat city.... no reason why not, but getting a win quick is important. But the next two are very winnable.

Lets hit the ground running and have a great end to the year, the fixture list looks promising and we need at least 12 points fromm next 6 league games

His first 3 games are 3 games we should get point from, so confidence should be instantly high, and can build on that throughout January. He should be able to bring in players in (a right winger, hopefully...!)

..and we should avoid relegation, and have a platform to build on for next season...
