Ince: The Right Decision Made

Today the Blackburn Rovers board finally ran out of patience with Paul Ince and removed him from his managerial role at Ewood Park.

I've personally backed Ince from the beginning, and carried on doing so recently despite the horrendous run of form we had been in, however, even my own confidence in him had reached rock bottom recently and the Wigan Athletic defeat on Saturday was the last straw. It's sad that Incey couldn't perform the job that I'd hoped that he would but getting rid of him now to give the new manager a chance during the January transfer window was the right thing to do (both buying and selling, something they MUST be backed in doing!!!)

Incey has had a terrible run of luck with injuries (but this wasn't happening under Mark Hughes, so the training methods etc. need to be questioned really I suppose?!?!) but Incey had also made some strange signings and team selections and overlooked players when they were fit even when he was left with no one else, so he has to carry the buck when all is said and done. The Players AND the board MUST also take some blame, maybe the board opted for the cheaper option when appointing Incey, however, a name like Michael Laudrup (who was heavily fancied) wouldn't have stayed for the long-term would he, and wouldn't have worked under such financial constraints as Incey did. Others such as Sam Allardyce and Steve McClaren weren't wanted, and personally I say rightly so. The players (basically the same as the ones that Hughes had) are told what to do by the manager but once they are out on the pitch they control their own actions, so some need to also look at themselves as well!!!

Graeme Souness is the bookies favourite to return to Ewood with Turkish legend Tugay working as a coach alongside him. For all Souness' faults he did achieve something with us (even if he jumped before he was pushed last time), but personally I am not sure that Souey would be the right man to lead us successfully away from a relegation battle, which we will be well and truly embroiled in if we don't go on a winning run NOW!!! Whoever does come in though MUST be backed in the January transfer window, and IF we sell players quality replacements MUST be brought in.

Crunch time guys. Whoever we get lets not all sit there going "Oh god not him" we need to do our bit. Lets give our full support and backing, all the sniping will get us relegated. Come on Rovers.
