Spurs Preparing January Move For Warnock?!

Spurs Preparing January Move For Warnock?!

Blackburn Rovers left-back (well central midfielder this season!) Stephen Warnock is understood to be a January target for Tottenham Hotspur.

Newspaper reports have a £5 million January transfer window swoop by Tottenham as an exclusive today, so having seen off interest from Newcastle United last summer we may well have to fight off interest from Spurs next month now. Spurs have a new manager in Harry Redknapp, but they seem to be linked to a lot of players but not all of them could arrive at White Hart Lane could they!!! Manchester City are also understood to be showing an interest in the England International, and we'll find it hard to keep Warnock at Ewood Park if we can't turn things around and move away from the relegation zone, losing players such as Warnock though would make this task all the more difficult and letting one go could see the floodgates open!!!

However, it is also understood that German international left-back Marcel Schafer is already being lined up at Stevie W's replacement. The Germany International (he made his debut against England last month) is being valued at £4 million and currently plays for Wolfsburg.

Judging by the prices paid these days (even with the global credit crunch) £5 million seems a bit cheap for Stevie W, and if we do let him go (but hopefully not) we should do so for more than that.

I think Stevie will stay for the season at least. Losing him would be a major folly as he has been brill and he is one of our best players!

What a crock of ***** this story is. Classic speculation. Warnock's been linked to newcastle, city AND now spuds. Yet, when it comes down to it 5 million is a kick in the face these days, especially from Spurs. If anyone wants him, we should bleed them dry. But, we don't have time to blood in a new left-back in January, so this one isn't going to happen.

Think this is news paper BS. We (spurs), despite what some people would have you belive, are fine at left back. Left wingers are what we need. Also can't see your board selling for such a low figure when surely this is the time to strenghten your squad. Nothing to worry about here lads. Good luck for the season

4 Mio. Pound for Schäfer WON'T be enough! He has an agreement with the club VfL Wolfsburg to sign a new contract and stay here up to 2012! Only a few days ago... So this "idea" isn's very serious. Schäfer will not move to England to join a middle-class-team like Blackburn. Wolfsburg is rich enough to laugh about 4 Mio. Pound! You should blame the english press. Delusion of grandeur. That doesn't mean, that i don't respect the club, but: who is Blackburn?!

Why not let him go, Ince has let our other good players go, why not more?? I am dismayed by the link with Smith from Watford - is this so we have suitable players when Ince leads us to the Championship? I am also concerned by the trialists, we hear they are doing well and then they get dropped, does Ince know what he is doing? I am truely concerned that we will not get out of this...

Positive Signs For Bennett

Bennett was positive of Blackburn being able to see off Lancashire rivals Preston heading into this game at Ewood Park after the Norwich and Fulham results.

Minor Graham Setback

Blackburn had to do without Danny Graham against Preston following the groin problem that forced him off against Fulham last week. He could return against Brighton next week.

Hugely Frustrating

Mowbray admitted Blackburn didn't start the game well against Preston but had then been the dominant side so was 'majorly disappointed' not to record a victory.
