Andrews Marks International Debut With A Goal!!!

Blackburn Rovers midfielder Keith Andrews marked his International debut for the Republic of Ireland with a goal, unfortunately it was not enough to prevent a 3-2 defeat against Poland in Dublin.

Andrews earned his first senior cap for Ireland as a second half substitute at Croke Park and marked this occasion with a goal from the edge of the area, however, this wasn't enough to save the Irish it just put a 3-2 scoreline on their defeat against the Poles.

Andrews' goal was not a bad way for a players that is "a League One reject and isn't good enough for the Premier League" to make his INTERNATIONAL debut was it!!!

It's superb news for Andrews that he not only made his International debut, but did this with a goal. It's just a shame he was on the losing side. Andrews might not be the best player in the world, but he continues to show that he isn't bad and for a manager like Trapatoni to have selected him (and the Italian KNOWS a thing or two about football!!!) he can't be mug can he!!!
Walker
good on him, i hope it kick starts a goal run for rovers
sasman
Remember he did score a beauty the other week didn't he!
Walker
This just shows that people were wrong about Andrews, he was pre-judged because of his history of who he played for. I defy anyone to argue these 2 points - 1) he has been one of our better players so far this season. 2) He will at the very least make a decent signing in this league.

I think most of us owe him an apology!!!!

defo boys....he's been good for us and constantly gets in the box causin trouble....his game reminds me of Tim Sherwood....neat passer, honest grafter, but has the nack of gettin in to the box....iv watched him closely n i think he can get some goals....lets back him boys...he's an international now!!!!!

lol... who was it that said "reject"? I forget his name.
Mikey D
It was a great strike and I'm delighted he was able to make such an impact on his debut, He's given us another option in midfield and with Reidy out injured and Stephen Ireland refusing to play for us God knows we need him!!
spinaker7081
Who did he replace then? Isnt Glen Whelan in the central midfield spot for Ireland?
Mikey D
He came on for Darren Gibson. Whelan was playing along side him the middle, but its not good partnership, I was glad to see Andrews come on.
spinaker7081
Maybe a start for him next time then Spinny?
Mikey D
Hopefully dude.
