The Axe Wants Out?

Blackburn Rovers midfielder Aaron Mokoena is preparing for a January move away from Ewood Park if reports today on Football365.co.za are to be believed.

Just days after manager Paul Ince has praised Mokoena and Zurab Khizanishvili for their patience and lack of moaning at not playing as regularly as they would like the Axe is understood to be preparing to move on in search of first-team football, with it also claimed that talks with other clubs have already taken place?!?!

Mokoena is quoted in the South African media as saying: "To be fair, there are quite a few talks with a few clubs so I am hoping to have games come January either with Blackburn or any team that is interested.

"Actually I would love to see myself playing towards the Confederations (Cup) at club level and obviously towards the World Cup at club level.
"

The Axe has got back into the Rovers side recently but his chances are always likely to be limited when first-team regulars are fit again so a January exit is one that I personally expect.

How true these comments actually are is anybodies guess, but I don't expect the Axe to be with us come the end of January.

I expect him to leave as well...but when both he and Vogel leaves in january we could have a problem in midfield....Dunn, Reid and Grella always injured! I say keep Vogel and let some of the others go....i.e. Ince :-)

hahaha nice call red, the axe is a good man, he always has given his best, never spoken out, and served his country proud

Oh behave boys.....the axe is garbage!!!!! it really tickles me to read the "Rose tinted" approach that our fans have for certain players in our squad who appear to be ba able to do no wrong!!!! Mokoena, Ooijer, Vogul etc they are crap, let them all go and recruit young fresh players eg Onouha, Kightly, Craig Gardener (was great for the U21's last night).

Ooijer is not crap!

Granted, he's crap at left back, but he is not a left back. That's the managers fault for playing him there...
Decimus Poole
Ooijer crap?!?! You must be having a laugh matey. By that rational Zurab is rubbish as well. Mokoena certainly has his limitations but so do a lot of our squad, I expect he will leave in Jan but he has served the club well, particularly in his first season here where he added steel to midfield that was missing.

lmao in euro 2008 there went many better the ooijer so cant be that bad
Kenty!
i just think we need an injection of youth to change things around!!!

Thats prob true mani - however Ooijer is one we should keep if we can. He is as reliable as they come.
