Ince: Time To Stand Up And Be Counted

Blackburn Rovers manager Paul Ince has spoken of his frustration at Saturday's Ewood Park defeat against Sunderland, but feels it is time for the club to stand up and be counted.

The defeat saw Rovers slip into the Premier League relegation zone, and now Ince wants to see his players fight back after a disappointing performance against Sunderland, and a performance that he felt let him down.

Ince told Sky Sports: "They have to realise they are in a dogfight and need to have that survival instinct about them.

"The disappointing thing is we capitulated when it went to 1-1. We did not have any leaders or characters to get us back together.

"It can't always come from the staff and the management, it has got to come from them. They are the ones out there.
"

Everyone at the club needs to stand up and be counted, players, coaching staff, chairman and the fans. The spirit (that is always said to have been good) needs to shine through now and results gained. Getting players back from injury will help but feeling self-pity at these injuries and moping around casting stones, blaming people and feeling sorry for ourselves isn't going to make things better is it!!!

As I said EVERYONE at the club (and connected to it) needs to stand up and be counted, now isn't the time for self-pity, moping around, casting stones, blaming people and feeling sorry for ourselves isn't going to make things better is it!!! The match against Spurs is a MASSIVE match now, even more so than usual!

"It can't always come from the staff and the management, it has got to come from them. They are the ones out there." What a cop-out, the buck stops with you Ince, if the players don't have that survival instinct then its up to you and your staff to instill it in them.

He does sound like he is passing the buck. It won't the players that are getting sacked if we go down, it'll be the manager. He is the one to drum into them that they are in a dogfight. The way we play passing football, not harrying teams, no closing down quickly, must come from the manager. This does not seem like a team that 'knows it's in a dogfight'. If he wants leaders on the park, why drop your club captain, for no apparent reason? He has annoyed me by this statement. You would not see other top managers blame the team. I remember when Chelsea were playing poorly, Mourinho took the spotlight of them by absorbing it himself, not deflecting it on to them! Ince is an idiot...

alright lads, lets calm down here a bit. Yes the buck does stop with Ince but on the pitch the players need to do their bit as well. It will be good to see what sort of reaction there is from the players... we need a good one and I think we'll get it. Now isnt the time to moan and point fingers, now is the time to get behind your team.

I actually agree with what Ince says...All I can do is to hope they do better

What happened with Nelsen on Saturday???? Not seen anything about it.....strange??

By the way guys, he's not passing the buck, he's trying to get the players to play with some personal pride.....once they'r on that pitch it's up to them to decide whether to run that bit further or pull out of a tackle and he's challenging the players to show some grit....

that last post is very true mani... lets not get on his back, its not gonna help anyone.

exactly!
