England Recall Robinson

Blackburn Rovers goalkeeper Paul Robinson was initially overlooked for the latest England Squad, but an injury to Manchester City's Joe Hart has seen him called-up as his replacement.

Robinson has been hoping for a recall, and many expected it but his howler in front of a less than amused England Goalkeeping Coach Ray Clemence at Ewood Park on Saturday (when he gifted Sunderland an equaliser) saw his chances go. However, due to the injury picked up by Hart against Hull City on Sunday afternoon the door has opened for Robbo and he will join the Squad heading to Berlin for the friendly with Germany.

Meanwhile Rovers' back-up goalkeeper Jason Brown is the subject of transfer speculation in the media today.

Reports understand that Barnsley, Charlton Athletic, Reading and Leicester City are all interested in the Welsh International and with his lack of first team football seeing him grow ever more frustrated he could be interested in leaving, and Paul Ince might allow him to? Brown has been unlucky, as he came in when Robbo was injured, however, despite doing nothing wrong was replaced as soon as Robbo was fit enough and that might well have proved the final straw for Brown?!?!

Good to see Robbo back in the squad, I thought his chance had gone with the blooper that he pulled off on Saturday. As far as Brown goes, I personally think that he will go as he came back in, did nothing wrong but as soon as Robbo was fit again he was back in. This seems to suggest that he has no chance of dislodging Robbo and he probably won't want to sit on the bench any longer.
