Zurab Still Has A Rovers Future

Zurab Still Has A Rovers Future

Blackburn Rovers defender Zurab Khizanishvili has been assured by manager Paul Ince that he is still very much part of his plans at Ewood Park.

The 27-year-old has found it hard to hold down a regular first-team place in the last couple of years, however, having featured in the last two Rovers matches the Georgian International hasn't disappointed, and this has been noted by Ince, as has his superb attitude.

Ince told the Lancashire Telegraph: "Kish has come in, he doesn't say a word, he trains. He is a fantastic professional.

"He trains like he wants to be in the side. You don't want players to train in a sulk because they are not going to get in the team.

"Kish is not like that, Aaron Mokoena is not like that either. He is a great pro and you need that.

"We have got to keep him. We are getting so many injuries and are not in a situation where we can really bring in other players.

"I think Kish is a very, very good player. He is vice captain for Georgia and when he has come in he has done ever so well.
"

It is not just Zurab getting the praise though, South African Skipper Mokoena has as well and as much as Incey appreciates their frustration at not playing as much as they would like he is in no hurry to sell them, and hopes they are not in a hurry to leave.

Ince added: "I felt I would have a look at Zurab. He did well against Everton and again did ever so well against Chelsea for his first full game and again on Wednesday, as did Aaron.

"Of course they are going to be frustrated. But you don't want them to sulk, you want them to get on with it. You have to have those players in the team.
"

The Monk NEVER lets us down does he, and unlike Mark Hughes before him it appears that Incey will keep him in the side if he performs well, as he has the last two matches so on merit he should retain his place against Sunderland this afternoon?

They're both reliable players, and the Monk especially has come in and done superbly recently. I hope that the dude carries on being given a chance, as he deserves it. Constantly coming in, playing well and then being dropped when others were fit or back from suspension has been unfair on him.

Positive Signs For Bennett

Bennett was positive of Blackburn being able to see off Lancashire rivals Preston heading into this game at Ewood Park after the Norwich and Fulham results.

Minor Graham Setback

Blackburn had to do without Danny Graham against Preston following the groin problem that forced him off against Fulham last week. He could return against Brighton next week.

Hugely Frustrating

Mowbray admitted Blackburn didn't start the game well against Preston but had then been the dominant side so was 'majorly disappointed' not to record a victory.
